You’re not burned out – You’re fighting the wrong fight

When your energy turns from assertive to aggressive, it’s time to take a break.

If everything starts to feel like a fight, you need to shift your energy. Before people hear your voice they feel your energy. In your emails, in your texts, in your voicemail message.

Let’s shift that. Gently. Powerfully. Right now.

1. Stop trying to prove yourself. Start trying to connect.

When you feel defensive, it usually means you’re trying to prove something.
Prove your worth. Your experience. Your choices.

Flip it.

Walk into every interaction thinking: “How can I make this easy for them to see me?”
Connection opens doors that proving never will.

2. Borrow belief (until yours comes back).

You don’t have to feel confident every day. Truly. But you do need access to belief.

Go back to emails, testimonials, LinkedIn recommendations.
Let someone else’s words carry you until your own strength catches up.

3. Change the question you’re asking.

Discouraged energy sounds like: “Why isn’t this working?”
Empowered energy sounds like: “What’s one small thing I can improve today?”

Tiny shifts create momentum. Momentum rebuilds confidence faster than anything else.

4. Shorten the gap between effort and encouragement

If all your effort disappears into applications… of course you feel defeated. You need faster feedback loops. Reach out to real humans. Call friends. Call former coworkers. Have conversations.

Get a “That’s interesting—tell me more.” That one sentence can fuel you for a week.

5. Treat your job search like a season—not a verdict

Your job search is not a final judgment on your value. It’s a season. A chapter. A transition. Some days will feel heavy. That’s allowed. But don’t turn a temporary moment into a permanent story about who you are.

Here’s the truth most people won’t say:

Your strategy matters.
Your resume matters.
Your LinkedIn matters.

But your energy?

That’s what people feel first.
And it’s often what they remember most.

So, if things feel hard right now…
don’t just push harder.

Shift the energy. Everything else starts to move after that.

Rooting for you,
